Now that school is starting, everybody needs a pencil bag, a notebook, and pens. What's a better way to start the year than to make a fun backpack or an awesome journal? Get some new bullet journal ideas and have fun!

In this post, I'm going to show you how to organize and maintain your notebook. I have lots of tips and tricks to help you through the year! 😊

Paper Notebook

You need:

- a paper notebook, wide OR college ruled

- a no.2 pencil

- a black pen

- colored pens, calligraphy pens, or colored pencils

- highlighters

- notecard (s)

- a glue stick/glue bottle

Step 1.

Pick a color scheme for your notebook. You can use minty colors- blue, mint green, teal... Or use Sunset colors- pink, purple, red, and orange. You can use just pinks if you'd like, or just blues. Basically, pick three or four colors that look good together, and if you need help choosing some, contact me, or reference my color scheme post.

Step 2.

Take one notecard and, using a pencil, lightly draw/write a design for the title of your notebook. If you need inspiration look at the photos below. Then use colors to trace over your design and have fun. Be creative! Now glue the notecard onto the front page of your notebook. Here are some examples:

Step 3.

Now, you're ready to focus on the inside. Use calligraphy, bold lettering, and highlighters to make your notes pop! I used Papermate pens, but any colored coloring utensils work. The actual notes NEED to be in black pen or pencil as shown below. They get hard to read if they are colored. If you don't put the notes in black, they will be hard to remember and they aren't going to look as good. Have fun and use colors that YOU like.
